Article R4342-7 of the French Public Health Code

The orthoptist is authorised, on medical prescription or within the framework of an organisational protocol defined in this section, to take part, under the responsibility of a doctor who is able to check that it is being carried out and to intervene immediately, in recordings made during the following functional explorations:

1° Retinal angiography, with the exception of the injection which is carried out by an authorised health professional ;

2° Ocular electrophysiology ;

3° Ocular biometry with contact ;

4° Pachymetry with contact.

The interpretation of the results is the responsibility of the doctor responsible for carrying out the examination.

Article R4342-7

L’orthoptiste est habilité, sur prescription médicale ou dans le cadre d’un protocole organisationnel défini à la présente section, à participer, sous la responsabilité d’un médecin en mesure d’en contrôler l’exécution et d’intervenir immédiatement, aux enregistrements effectués à l’occasion des explorations fonctionnelles suivantes :

1° Angiographie rétinienne, à l’exception de l’injection qui est effectuée par un professionnel de santé habilité ;

2° Electrophysiologie oculaire ;

3° Biométrie oculaire avec contact ;

4° Pachymétrie avec contact.

L’interprétation des résultats est de la compétence du médecin responsable de l’exécution de l’examen.
