When earthmoving, transport, lifting or handling equipment must be used or moved in the vicinity of an electricity line, installation or pipeline of any class, and the operator, for a reason he considers imperative, considers that he cannot de-energise this line, installation or pipeline, the locations to be occupied and the routes to be followed by this equipment shall be chosen, as far as possible, in such a way as to avoid any part of the equipment approaching the line, installation or pipeline, installation or pipeline, the locations to be occupied and the routes to be followed by these machines are chosen, as far as possible, so as to avoid any part of the machines approaching the line, installation or pipeline at a distance less than the minimum safety distances laid down in articles R. 4534-108 and R. 4534-110.
If this is not possible, the instructions provided for in article R. 4534-125 specify the precautions to be taken to avoid such approaches, even if there are movement limiters for moving parts or if appropriate warning or stopping provisions have been taken.
