As long as there are workers in an underground gallery or at the bottom of a shaft, the presence of a worker is required at all times to operate the winch.
When the depth of a shaft exceeds six metres, a hand-operated winch must be operated by at least two workers.

Tant qu’il y a des travailleurs dans une galerie souterraine ou au fond d’un puits, la présence d’un travailleur est requise en permanence pour la manœuvre du treuil.
Lorsque la profondeur d’un puits dépasse six mètres, le service d’un treuil mû à la main est assuré par deux travailleurs au moins.
