Article R49-37 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

Subject to the provisions of Article R. 49-38, where a request for information from a competent department of one of the Member States of the European Union or of one of the non-Member States mentioned in Article 695-9-48 falls within the scope of the first paragraph of article R. 49-36, the departments and units mentioned in article 695-9-31 shall respond, in the event of an emergency, within a maximum of eight hours and, in the absence of an emergency, within seven days.

In other cases, the reply is sent to the competent department of the requesting State within a maximum of fourteen days.

Sous réserve des dispositions de l’article R. 49-38, lorsque la demande d’informations émanant d’un service compétent de l’un des Etats membres de l’Union européenne ou de l’un des Etats non membres mentionnés à l’article 695-9-48 entre dans les prévisions du premier alinéa de l’article R. 49-36, les services et unités mentionnés à l’article 695-9-31 y répondent, en cas d’urgence, dans un délai maximum de huit heures et, en l’absence d’urgence, dans un délai de sept jours.


Dans les autres cas, la réponse est adressée au service compétent de l’Etat requérant dans un délai maximum de quatorze jours.
