Article R50-20 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

At the hearing, the commission, where it considers that the case should be referred to another hearing, shall immediately set the date of that hearing. When the parties are neither present nor represented, they are informed of this referral by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt, with the exception of the guarantee fund, which is informed by simple letter.

A l’audience, la commission, lorsqu’elle estime qu’il y a lieu de renvoyer l’affaire à une autre audience, fixe immédiatement la date de celle-ci. Lorsque les parties ne sont ni présentes ni représentées, celles-ci sont informées de ce renvoi par lettre recommandée avec demande d’avis de réception, à l’exception du fonds de garantie qui est informé par lettre simple.
