Article R5121-132 of the French Public Health Code

For pharmaceutical products with a parallel import authorisation, Customs officers check the import authorisation number on the packaging. If this number does not appear on the packaging at the time of import, the parallel import authorisation must be produced when the product is inspected by customs officers.

Pour les spécialités pharmaceutiques pourvues de l’autorisation d’importation parallèle, les agents des douanes contrôlent le numéro d’autorisation d’importation qui figure sur le conditionnement. Lorsque ce numéro ne figure pas sur le conditionnement au moment de l’importation, l’autorisation d’importation parallèle est présentée lors du contrôle par les agents des douanes.
