Article R5121-8 of the French Public Health Code

The directory of generic groups lists the medicinal products included in each generic group, specifying their strength and pharmaceutical form. The generic groups are grouped by active substance designated by its common name preceded by the words “common name” and by route of administration. The information which, in application of article R. 5125-55, must be included in a prescription under a non-proprietary name is specified in the directory for the attention of prescribers.

The directory of generic groups indicates, for each medicinal product, its name, strength and pharmaceutical form, as well as the name of the marketing authorisation holder and, if different from the latter, the name of the company or organisation exploiting the medicinal product, as well as, where applicable, the excipients with known effects which it contains.

Article R5121-8

Le répertoire des groupes génériques présente les spécialités incluses dans chaque groupe générique, en précisant leur dosage et leur forme pharmaceutique. Les groupes génériques sont regroupés par substance active désignée par sa dénomination commune précédée de la mention ” dénomination commune ” et par voie d’administration. Les mentions qui doivent, en application de l’article R. 5125-55, figurer dans une prescription libellée en dénomination commune sont spécifiées dans le répertoire à l’attention des prescripteurs.

Le répertoire des groupes génériques indique, pour chaque spécialité, son nom, son dosage et sa forme pharmaceutique, ainsi que le nom du titulaire de l’autorisation de mise sur le marché, et, s’il diffère de ce dernier, le nom de l’entreprise ou de l’organisme exploitant la spécialité, ainsi que, le cas échéant, les excipients à effets notoires qu’elle contient.
