Article R5124-64 of the French Public Health Code

Wholesalers of medicinal plants shall, with regard to the operations they carry out and prior to marketing, check the identification of the plants and release the batches defined during the operations carried out. They shall also ensure that the plants are properly preserved during the operations carried out and until they are delivered.

Any operations carried out on these plants must not modify their botanical or organoleptic properties or affect their chemical composition.

Les distributeurs en gros de plantes médicinales procèdent, eu égard aux opérations qu’ils effectuent et préalablement à la commercialisation, à un contrôle d’identification des plantes et à une libération des lots définis au cours des opérations effectuées. Ils veillent en outre à la bonne conservation des plantes au cours des opérations effectuées et jusqu’à leur livraison.

Les opérations éventuellement réalisées sur ces plantes ne peuvent ni en modifier les propriétés botaniques ou organoleptiques ni en affecter la composition chimique.
