Article R5125-53 of the French Public Health Code

When dispensing a medicinal product or product other than that prescribed pursuant to article L. 5125-23, the pharmacist shall indicate on the prescription the name of the medicinal product or product dispensed, which, in the case of a proprietary medicinal product, is its name within the meaning of article R. 5121-1. He shall enter on the prescription the pharmaceutical form of the medicinal product dispensed if this differs from that of the medicinal product prescribed; he shall do the same for the number of dosage units corresponding to the dose of treatment prescribed, if this number of units differs for the medicinal product dispensed from that of the medicinal product prescribed.

He will also stamp the prescription with the pharmacy stamp and the date of issue.

Lorsqu’il délivre un médicament ou produit autre que celui qui a été prescrit en application de l’article L. 5125-23, le pharmacien indique sur l’ordonnance le nom du médicament ou du produit délivré, qui, dans le cas d’une spécialité pharmaceutique, est sa dénomination au sens de l’article R. 5121-1. Il inscrit sur l’ordonnance la forme pharmaceutique du médicament délivré si celle-ci diffère de celle du médicament prescrit ; il fait de même pour le nombre d’unités de prise correspondant à la posologie du traitement prescrit, si ce nombre d’unités diffère pour le médicament délivré de celui du médicament prescrit.

Il appose, en outre, sur cette ordonnance, le timbre de l’officine et la date de la délivrance.
