I. – Authorisation is issued to a natural person for all or part of a strain of micro-organism or a type of toxin and for one or more of the operations mentioned in the first paragraph of Article R. 5139-1 carried out within a specific establishment.
Authorisation may not be issued to a legal entity. It is not transferable.
Authorisations are valid for a maximum of five years.
II – The application for renewal of the authorisation is sent by the holder to the Director General of the Agency under the conditions mentioned in articles R. 5139-3 to R. 5139-4 and no later than four months before its expiry date.
The period of validity of the initial authorisation is extended until the Director General of the Agency has taken his decision under the conditions mentioned in Articles R. 5139-4 to R. 5139-7.
When the authorisation is renewed, the new period of validity runs from the day following the expiry of the previous period of validity.
