Article R5141-123-12 of the French Public Health Code

The parallel import authorisation is issued for a period of five years. It specifies the differences mentioned in article R. 5141-123-8 with the speciality that has obtained marketing authorisation in France. An extract of the authorisation is published on the website of the Agence nationale de sécurité sanitaire de l’alimentation, de l’environnement et du travail.

By way of derogation from the provisions of the first paragraph, the duration of the parallel import authorisation issued to an owner or professional keeper of animals belonging to species whose flesh or products are intended for human consumption corresponds to the duration of the validity of the veterinary prescription where this is necessary.

Par dérogation aux dispositions du premier alinéa, la durée de l’autorisation d’importation parallèle délivrée à un propriétaire ou un détenteur professionnel d’animaux relevant d’espèces dont la chair ou les produits sont destinés à la consommation humaine correspond à la durée de la validité de la prescription vétérinaire lorsqu’elle est nécessaire.
