Article R5141-42 of the French Public Health Code

The Director General of the Agence nationale de sécurité sanitaire de l’alimentation, de l’environnement et du travail may also suspend, for a period not exceeding one year, or revoke a marketing authorisation for a veterinary medicinal product where it appears, in particular following evaluation of the data referred to in article R. 5141-90, that the medicinal product no longer meets the conditions referred to in article L. 5141-6.

In the event that the veterinary medicinal product does not comply with the conditions mentioned in 5° of article L. 5141-6, the decision to suspend or revoke the marketing authorisation may only be taken if the holder, who has been given formal notice to regularise the situation of the medicinal product, has not complied with this formal notice within the period set by the Director General of the Agency.

Article R5141-42

Le directeur général de l’Agence nationale de sécurité sanitaire de l’alimentation, de l’environnement et du travail peut également suspendre, pour une période ne pouvant pas excéder un an, ou supprimer une autorisation de mise sur le marché d’un médicament vétérinaire lorsqu’il apparaît, notamment à la suite de l’évaluation des données mentionnées à l’article R. 5141-90, que le médicament ne satisfait plus aux conditions mentionnées à l’article L. 5141-6.

Dans le cas où le médicament vétérinaire ne respecte pas les conditions mentionnées au 5° de l’article L. 5141-6, la décision de suspension ou de suppression de l’autorisation de mise sur le marché ne peut être prise que si son titulaire, mis en demeure de régulariser la situation du médicament, n’a pas donné suite à cette mise en demeure dans le délai fixé par le directeur général de l’agence.
