Article R53-20-1 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

Unless otherwise decided by the public prosecutor, the judicial police officer or, in the course of an investigation, the investigating judge, seals and samples relating to the traces and samples mentioned in 1°, 1° bis, 3° and 4° of I and 1° and 2° of III of Article R. 53-10 are sent, when the analysis has been carried out, to the central service for the preservation of biological samples with a view to their preservation.

Sauf décision contraire du procureur de la République, de l’officier de police judiciaire ou, en cours d’information, du juge d’instruction, les scellés et prélèvements relatifs aux traces et échantillons mentionnés aux 1°, 1° bis, 3° et 4° du I et aux 1° et 2° du III de l’article R. 53-10 sont adressés, lorsque l’analyse a été effectuée, au service central de préservation des prélèvements biologiques en vue de leur préservation.
