Article R532-48 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

The interpreter is made available to the applicant in the hearing room where he or she is present.
In the event of difficulty in obtaining the assistance of a qualified interpreter physically present with the applicant, the hearing is held only after the Cour nationale du droit d’asile has ensured that such an interpreter is present in the room where it is sitting throughout.

L’interprète est mis à la disposition du requérant dans la salle d’audience où il se trouve.
En cas de difficulté pour obtenir le concours d’un interprète qualifié présent physiquement auprès du requérant, l’audience ne se tient qu’après que la Cour nationale du droit d’asile s’est assurée de la présence, dans la salle où elle siège, d’un tel interprète tout au long de son déroulement.
