Article R611-18 of the French Intellectual Property Code

An action to claim ownership of a patent application or patent shall be entered in the National Patent Register at the request of the person who brought the action.

If the court decision is in favour of the person who brought the action, the copies of the patent application or patent available to the National Institute of Industrial Property for public consultation and for sale shall be marked with a note indicating the change of ownership of the patent.

L’action en revendication de propriété d’une demande de brevet ou d’un brevet fait l’objet d’une inscription au Registre national des brevets à la requête de la personne qui a intenté cette action.

Si la décision judiciaire est rendue en faveur de la personne qui a intenté l’action, les exemplaires de la demande de brevet ou du brevet dont dispose l’Institut national de la propriété industrielle pour la consultation publique et pour la vente sont revêtus d’une mention faisant apparaître le changement de propriétaire du brevet.
