When one or more cases of nosocomial infections have been detected and their nature corresponds to one or more of the reporting criteria defined in article R. 1413-79, the healthcare professional responsible for the report must report it without delay to the Director General of the Regional Health Agency and to the head of the support centre for the prevention of healthcare-associated infections mentioned in article R. 1413-83. He will inform the head of the department in which the case(s) occurred in public health establishments, the doctor responsible for the patient(s) in other health establishments, health cooperation groups, the chairman of the establishment’s medical committee or the establishment’s medical conference, and the legal representative of the establishment of the transmission of this report.
The annual number of reports in the establishment is indicated in the report on activities to combat nosocomial infections mentioned in article R. 6111-8.
