The legal representative of the health care organisation, after consultation with the chairman of the institutional medical committee in public health care organisations, or with the institutional medical conference in private health care organisations, decides on the organisation of the fight against adverse events associated with care. This organisation aims :
1° Implementing staff training and communication initiatives aimed at staff and users to develop a culture of safety in the health care organisation;
2° To have access to expertise relating to the methodology for managing risks associated with healthcare, in particular the analysis of undesirable events;
2° bis To put in place a system to collect all undesirable events associated with healthcare within its establishment and to analyse them in order to implement preventive or corrective measures;
3° To provide the health care organisation’s medical committee or medical conference with the information it needs to propose the action programme referred to in articles L. 6144-1 and L. 6161-2, together with monitoring indicators, with a view to combating undesirable events associated with care;
4° To provide the health care organisation’s medical committee or medical conference with the information it needs to draw up an annual report on the action taken;
5° To ensure consistency in the actions of staff involved in the fight against undesirable events associated with healthcare;
6° To provide the hospital medical committee or the hospital medical conference with information relating to transfusion safety and haemovigilance and to ensure the coherence of the actions of those involved in transfusion activities.
