Article R612-13 of the French Intellectual Property Code

The description shall be presented under the conditions and in the order provided for in Article R. 612-12 unless the nature of the invention allows for a different, more intelligible and concise presentation.

The following in particular may also appear as appendices at the end of the description:

1° Short extracts from computer programs presented in the form of listings written in common programming languages, where they are necessary for understanding the invention;

2° Lists of nucleotide and/or amino acid sequences;

3° Chemical or mathematical formulae.

Schematics of process steps, diagrams as well as short extracts from computer programs presented in the form of flowcharts necessary for the understanding of the invention are considered as drawings.

La description est présentée dans les conditions et dans l’ordre prévus à l’article R. 612-12 à moins que la nature de l’invention ne permette une présentation différente plus intelligible et plus concise.

Peuvent en outre figurer en annexe à la fin de la description notamment :

1° De courts extraits de programmes d’ordinateurs présentés sous forme de listages rédigés en langages de programmation courants, lorsqu’ils sont nécessaires à la compréhension de l’invention ;

2° Des listes de séquences de nucléotides et/ou d’acides aminés ;

3° Des formules chimiques ou mathématiques.

Les schémas d’étapes de processus, les diagrammes ainsi que les courts extraits de programmes d’ordinateurs présentés sous forme d’organigrammes nécessaires à la compréhension de l’invention sont considérés comme des dessins.
