The opposition referred to in Article L. 613-23 shall be filed within a period of nine months following publication in the Bulletin officiel de la propriété industrielle of the mention of the grant of the contested patent.
It may be filed by a natural person or legal entity acting personally or through an agent meeting the conditions laid down in Article R. 612-2.
Natural or legal persons who do not have their domicile or registered office in a Member State of the European Union or in a State party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area must appoint a representative.
When the opposition is lodged jointly by two or more natural or legal persons, a representative must be appointed.
Where the opposition is lodged jointly by several persons, a joint representative meeting the same conditions must be appointed.

Where, in the opposition proceedings, the proprietor of the patent submits observations or proposals to amend the patent, the conditions of representation referred to in Article R. 612-2 shall apply.
