Article R614-21 of the French Intellectual Property Code

The international application may be filed at the headquarters of the National Institute of Industrial Property or sent there by post or by any means of teletransmission under the conditions defined by decision of its Director General. The filing date shall be the date of receipt of the application at the headquarters of the Institute.

The filing may be made by the applicant personally or by an agent. The provisions of Article R. 612-2 shall apply.

Subject to the obligation laid down in Article L. 614-18, the international application may also be filed with the European Patent Office, acting as receiving Office.

Article R614-21

La demande internationale peut être déposée au siège de l’Institut national de la propriété industrielle ou y être envoyée par pli postal ou par tout mode de télétransmission dans les conditions définies par décision de son directeur général. La date de dépôt est celle de la réception de la demande au siège de l’institut.

Le dépôt peut être effectué par le déposant personnellement ou par un mandataire. Les dispositions de l’article R. 612-2 sont applicables.

Sous réserve de l’obligation prévue à l’article L. 614-18, la demande internationale peut également être déposée auprès de l’Office européen des brevets, agissant en qualité d’office récepteur.
