Article R614-23 of the French Intellectual Property Code

The international application shall be drawn up in the French language.

If it is not filed in electronic form, the application shall be filed in three copies, together with each of the documents mentioned in the schedule referred to in Rule 3, paragraph 3, letter a (ii) of the Regulations under the Patent Cooperation Treaty. However, the request referred to in the aforementioned Rule 3, paragraph 1, and the documents justifying the fees payable shall be filed in a single copy.

If the provisions of the previous paragraph are not complied with, the missing copies shall be prepared ex officio by the National Institute of Industrial Property.

La demande internationale est établie en langue française.

Si elle n’est pas déposée sous forme électronique, la demande est déposée en trois exemplaires, ainsi que chacun des documents mentionnés dans le bordereau visé à la règle 3, paragraphe 3, lettre a (ii) du règlement d’exécution du traité de coopération en matière de brevets. Toutefois, la requête visée à la règle 3 précitée, paragraphe 1, et les documents justifiant des taxes exigibles sont déposés en un seul exemplaire.

S’il n’est pas satisfait aux dispositions du précédent alinéa, les exemplaires manquants sont préparés d’office par l’Institut national de la propriété industrielle.
