Article R6146-20 of the French Public Health Code

In public health establishments authorised in application of the provisions of the second paragraph of article L. 6146-1 not to create centres of activity, the director of the establishment may, on the proposal of the chairman of the establishment’s medical commission, appoint a doctor qualified in general medicine who has signed a contract with the establishment as referred to in article R. 6146-17, responsible for coordinating medical activities, organising medical continuity of care and evaluating care. The appointment is for a renewable period of three years.

The contract sets out the percentage of working time corresponding to this position. The corresponding remuneration is established by reference to the allowance paid to heads of department.

Dans les établissements publics de santé autorisés en application des dispositions du deuxième alinéa de l’article L. 6146-1 à ne pas créer de pôles d’activité, le directeur de l’établissement peut, sur proposition du président de la commission médicale d’établissement, nommer un médecin qualifié en médecine générale ayant conclu avec l’établissement un contrat mentionné à l’article R. 6146-17, responsable de la coordination des activités médicales, de l’organisation de la continuité médicale des soins et de l’évaluation des soins. La nomination est prononcée pour une durée de trois ans renouvelable.


Le contrat fixe la quotité du temps de travail correspondant à cette fonction. La rémunération correspondante est établie par référence à l’indemnité versée aux chefs de pôle.
