Junior doctors suffering from tuberculosis, mental illness, cancer, severe and acquired immunodeficiency or poliomyelitis and unable to carry out their duties are entitled, after receiving the opinion of the medical committee referred to in article R. 6152-36, to long-term leave for a maximum of twenty-four months per condition for periods not exceeding six months.
In this situation, he receives the full emoluments mentioned in 1° of article R. 6153-1-7 as well as the supervised autonomy allowance and, where applicable, allowances for accommodation, heating, lighting and food.
If, at the end of this leave, he is unable to resume his activities, he is granted, at his request, unpaid leave related to his state of health, for a maximum period of eighteen months.
On expiry of the entitlement to long-term leave or unpaid leave for health reasons, the medical committee shall decide whether the person concerned is fit to perform his duties.
