Article R6153-11 of the French Public Health Code

The research year, provided for in articles R. 632-42, D. 633-13 and R. 634-13 of the Education Code, may only be carried out when a research year contract has been concluded between the postgraduate student concerned, the director general of the regional health agency, the director general of the university hospital centre to which the student is attached and the president of the university at which the student is enrolled. An order from the ministers responsible for higher education and health sets out the procedures for the research year and the standard clauses of the contract.

The student receives remuneration equal to the average of the emoluments for the second and third years of internship provided for in article R. 6153-10 and the allowance provided for in 6° of article D. 6153-10-1. The university hospital centre to which the student is attached pays the student. It is reimbursed by the State on the basis of the necessary supporting documents.

L’année de recherche, prévue aux articles aux articles R. 632-42, D. 633-13 et R. 634-13 du code de l’éducation, ne peut être réalisée que lorsqu’un contrat d’année de recherche a été conclu entre l’étudiant de troisième cycle intéressé, le directeur général de l’agence régionale de santé, le directeur général du centre hospitalier universitaire de rattachement et le président de l’université d’inscription de l’étudiant. Un arrêté des ministres chargés de l’enseignement supérieur et de la santé fixe les modalités de déroulement de l’année de recherche ainsi que les clauses types du contrat.

L’étudiant perçoit une rémunération égale à la moyenne des émoluments de deuxième et troisième années d’internat prévus à l’article R. 6153-10 et de l’indemnité prévue au 6° de l’article D. 6153-10-1. Le centre hospitalier universitaire de rattachement assure la rémunération de l’étudiant. Il est remboursé par l’Etat au vu des justificatifs nécessaires.
