Article R6153-17 of the French Public Health Code

In the event of illness or accident attributable to the performance of duties carried out as part of their training or in the event of illness contracted or accident occurring during the performance of their duties, interns benefit from leave during which they receive the full remuneration mentioned in article R. 6153-10 and in 1° and 3° of article D. 6153-10-1.

At the end of a twelve-month period of leave, the person concerned may benefit from an extension of the leave, with two-thirds of the remuneration mentioned in article R. 6153-10 and in 1° and 3° of article D. 6153-10-1 being maintained until recovery or consolidation for a period which may not exceed twenty-four months.

En cas de maladie ou d’accident imputable à l’exercice des fonctions exercées dans le cadre de sa formation ou en cas de maladie contractée ou d’accident survenu à l’occasion de l’exercice de ses fonctions, l’interne bénéficie d’un congé pendant lequel il perçoit la totalité de la rémunération mentionnée à l’article R. 6153-10 et aux 1° et 3° de l’article D. 6153-10-1.

A l’issue d’une période de douze mois de congé, l’intéressé peut bénéficier d’une prolongation du congé, avec maintien des deux tiers de la rémunération mentionnée à l’article R. 6153-10 et aux 1° et 3° de l’article D. 6153-10-1 jusqu’à guérison ou consolidation pour une période qui ne peut excéder vingt-quatre mois.
