Article R6153-24 of the French Public Health Code

Students in the third cycle of medical, odontology and pharmacy studies have the right to organise. They may set up trade union organisations, join them and hold office. They may not suffer any prejudice or benefit from any advantages because of their trade union commitments. Special leave of absence is granted by the director of the establishment, under the conditions and within the limits set by order of the Minister for Health, to the elected union representatives of the residents, when the latter are attending union meetings.

Le droit syndical est reconnu aux étudiants de troisième cycle des études de médecine, d’odontologie et de pharmacie. Ils peuvent créer des organisations syndicales, y adhérer, y exercer des mandats. Ils ne peuvent subir aucun préjudice ou bénéficier d’avantages en raison de leurs engagements syndicaux. Des autorisations spéciales d’absence sont accordées par le directeur de l’établissement, dans les conditions et limites fixées par arrêté du ministre chargé de la santé, aux représentants syndicaux élus des internes, à l’occasion de la participation de ceux-ci à des réunions syndicales.
