In order to exercise their trade union rights, which are recognised in their capacity as public servants, medical students may set up, join and hold office in trade union organisations. They may not suffer any prejudice or benefit from any advantages because of their trade union commitments.

Special leave of absence is granted by the director of the establishment and the director of the training and research unit, under the conditions and within the limits set by order of the Minister for Health, to the elected trade union representatives of medical students, when the latter are attending trade union meetings.
