Army hospital interns in training are called “junior doctors” when completing phase 3, known as the consolidation phase, mentioned in article R. 632-20 of the Education Code, and “interns” when completing the phases mentioned in article R. 6193-2.
In application of the provisions of I of article R. 632-49 and of article R. 632-54 of the Education Code, interns and assistants in army hospitals are assigned by the Minister of Defence to the places of training set out in the second paragraph of article L. 632-5 of the same code.
Army hospital interns and assistants who undertake a training period elsewhere than in an army health service establishment remain subject to their status and continue to receive their pay.
Without prejudice to compliance with the obligations set out in the general status of military personnel and the specific provisions set out in this chapter, the provisions of articles R. 6153-1-2, R. 6153-1-4, 2° of article D. 6153-1-8, articles R. 6153-1-19, R. 6153-1-20 and R. 6153-1-22, articles R. 6153-2 to R. 6153-6, 2° of article D. 6153-10-1 and articles R. 6153-29 to R. 6153-40 are applicable to them, with the exception of the provisions of the second paragraph of articles R. 6153-1-20 and R. 6153-40 .
Without prejudice to compliance with the obligations laid down by the general status of military personnel and the specific provisions laid down in this chapter, the provisions of article R. 6153-1-5 and articles R. 6153-2 to R. 6153-2-5 are applicable to them to the full extent compatible with the proper functioning of the service.
The army doctor referred to in article R. 632-50 of the Education Code or the army pharmacist referred to in article D. 633-31 of the same code is involved in the individual interview conducted at the start of phase 3 as well as in the consultation relating to the nature, number and conditions of performance of the procedures that army hospital interns and assistants are able to perform independently under supervision.
When army hospital interns and assistants request authorisation to take part, as part of their internship service obligations and taking into account teaching requirements, in medical on-call duty, this request is subject to the agreement of the competent military authority. The authorisation granted is forwarded to this authority.
The provisions relating to the forwarding of this authorisation to the “conseil de l’ordre” are not applicable.
