Article R6222-10 of the French Labour Code

A tripartite agreement may be concluded to extend the duration of the apprenticeship contract or period if it is suspended for a reason beyond the apprentice’s control. The duration of the apprenticeship contract or period is then extended until the end of the next training cycle.

Une convention tripartite peut être conclue pour allonger la durée du contrat ou de la période d’apprentissage en cas de suspension de celui-ci ou de celle-ci pour une raison indépendante de la volonté de l’apprenti. La durée du contrat ou de la période d’apprentissage est alors prolongée jusqu’à l’expiration du cycle de formation suivant.
