Article R6222-6 of the French Labour Code

The duration of the apprenticeship contract or period may be reduced or extended by the agreement provided for in the last paragraph of article L. 6222-7-1, after assessment by the apprentice training centre of the apprentice’s initial level of skills or acquired skills.

The agreement may not result in the duration of the apprenticeship contract or period being less than six months or more than three years.

In the case of an in-house apprentice training centre, the agreement is signed by the employer and the apprentice or his legal representative.

La durée du contrat ou de la période d’apprentissage peut être réduite ou allongée par la convention prévue au dernier aliéna de l’article L. 6222-7-1, après évaluation par le centre de formation d’apprentis du niveau initial de compétence de l’apprenti ou de ses compétences acquises.

La convention ne peut pas conduire à une durée du contrat ou de la période d’apprentissage inférieure à six mois ou supérieure à trois ans.

Dans le cadre d’un centre de formation d’apprentis interne à l’entreprise, la convention est signée par l’employeur et l’apprenti ou son représentant légal.
