The plant variety certificate is issued by the person in charge of missions under the national plant variety authority. It is issued in the name of the holder of the plant variety certificate application. If the holder of the application is not the breeder, the latter’s name must be mentioned on the plant variety certificate.
In addition to the denomination of the variety and its botanical description, the certificate shall in particular include details of the date of filing of the application, the date of issue, the various publicity measures, and details of priorities in the event that any are claimed.
Where, by application of the provisions of Articles R. 623-4, R. 623-7and R. 623-22, the variety is designated by one or more other denominations with the different members of the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants, these different denominations are mentioned for information on the plant variety certificate.
