Article R6312-28-1 of the French Public Health Code

Inter-hospital nursing transport is organised by health establishments and carried out either using their own approved resources, or under agreements with health transport companies.

It is carried out, in liaison with the SAMU, by a team consisting of a driver or pilot holding a qualification issued by the Minister for Health, and a nurse who intervenes under the conditions provided for in article R. 4311-7.

For the inter-hospital nursing transport of stable ventilated, intubated or sedated patients, the nurse making up the team mentioned in the previous paragraph is a State-qualified nurse anaesthetist.

This team may be placed under the authority of a doctor in charge of an emergency medical facility.

The organisation and operation of inter-hospital nursing transport is subject to annual assessment.

Le transport infirmier interhospitalier est organisé par les établissements de santé et réalisé soit par leurs moyens propres agréés, soit par des conventions avec des entreprises de transport sanitaire.

Il est assuré, en liaison avec le SAMU, par une équipe composée d’un conducteur ou d’un pilote titulaire du titre délivré par le ministre chargé de la santé, et d’un infirmier qui intervient dans les conditions prévues à l’article R. 4311-7.

Pour le transport infirmier interhospitalier de patients stables ventilés, intubés ou sédatés, l’infirmier composant l’équipe mentionnée à l’alinéa précédent est un infirmier ou une infirmière anesthésiste diplômé d’Etat.

Cette équipe peut être placée sous l’autorité d’un médecin responsable d’une structure de médecine d’urgence.

L’organisation et le fonctionnement des transports infirmiers interhospitaliers font l’objet d’une évaluation annuelle.
