Article R645-6 of the French Commercial code

The president of the court has the power to replace a judge who is unable to act or who has ceased to hold office. The decision by which the replacement is made is a measure of judicial administration.

Le président du tribunal est compétent pour remplacer le juge commis empêché ou ayant cessé ses fonctions. La décision par laquelle il est pourvu au remplacement est une mesure d’administration judiciaire.
