Article R7111-2 of the French Labour Code

In support of their first application to the Professional Journalists’ Identity Card Commission, as provided for in Section 2, applicants must provide:
1° Proof of identity and nationality;
2° A curriculum vitae certified on their honour;
3° Bulletin No. 3 of their criminal record dated less than three months;
4° A statement certified on their honour that journalism is their main, regular and paid occupation and that they earn remuneration at least equal to the minimum wage resulting from the application of the provisions of this Code. This statement shall be accompanied by an indication of the daily or periodical publications, press agencies or audiovisual communication companies in which the applicant exercises his profession;
5° An indication of other regular paid occupations;
6° An undertaking to inform the Commission of any change in his situation that would result in a change in the declarations on the basis of which the card was issued. This undertaking includes the obligation to return the card to the Commission if the holder ceases to be a professional journalist.

A l’appui de sa première demande adressée à la commission de la carte d’identité des journalistes professionnels, prévue à la section 2, l’intéressé fournit :
1° La justification de son identité et de sa nationalité ;
2° Un curriculum vitae affirmé sur l’honneur ;
3° Le bulletin n° 3 de son casier judiciaire daté de moins de trois mois ;
4° L’affirmation sur l’honneur que le journalisme est bien sa profession principale, régulière et rétribuée et qu’il en tire une rémunération au moins égale au salaire minimum résultant de l’application des dispositions du présent code. Cette affirmation est accompagnée de l’indication des publications quotidiennes ou périodiques, agences de presse ou entreprises de communication audiovisuelle dans lesquelles le postulant exerce sa profession ;
5° L’indication des autres occupations régulières rétribuées ;
6° L’engagement de faire connaître à la commission tout changement qui surviendrait dans sa situation et qui entraînerait une modification des déclarations sur la production desquelles la carte aurait été délivrée. Cet engagement comporte l’obligation de rendre la carte à la commission lorsque le titulaire perd la qualité de journaliste professionnel.
