The duties of the members of the establishments of the network of chambers of commerce and industry are free of charge.
However, this free of charge status does not prevent the allocation of allowances or reimbursement of expenses, the list, terms and amounts of which are set by the internal regulations of the chamber of commerce and industry, in accordance with the provisions relating to deductible professional expenses for the calculation of social security contributions and social contributions provided for by the social security code.
An overall allowance for office expenses may also be awarded to the Board by the General Meeting, in accordance with a scale set by order of the Minister responsible for the supervision of chambers of commerce and industry. This scale takes into account the size of the network’s establishments, determined according to the number of their members, and the value of the index point provided for in the statute governing the administrative staff of the chambers of commerce and industry.
