Article R7124-38 of the French Labour Code

Any breach of the provisions of articles L. 4153-7, L. 7124-1 to L. 7124-11, L. 7124-13 to L. 7124-18 and L. 7124-21 as well as articles R. 7124-3, R. 7124-10, R. 7124-26, R. 7124-31 and R. 7124-34 committed abroad against French nationals must be reported, as soon as possible, by French consular officials to the French authorities or to the local authorities if the laws of the country provide for repression.
These agents must also take the necessary measures to ensure the repatriation to France of children of French origin.

Toute infraction aux dispositions des articles L. 4153-7, L. 7124-1 à L. 7124-11, L. 7124-13 à L. 7124-18 et L. 7124-21 ainsi que des articles R. 7124-3, R. 7124-10, R. 7124-26, R. 7124-31 et R. 7124-34 commise à l’étranger à l’égard de Français doit être dénoncée, dans le plus bref délai, par les agents consulaires de la France aux autorités françaises ou aux autorités locales si les lois du pays en assurent la répression.
Ces agents doivent, en outre, prendre les mesures nécessaires pour assurer le rapatriement en France des enfants d’origine française.
