Article R721-1 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

In the event of an asylum application being rejected, the Director General of the French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons shall inform the competent Prefect of the documents referred to in Article L. 721-2 of which he or she has the original or a copy.
At the request of the Prefect, the Director General of the Office shall communicate these documents to officials personally and specially authorised by Prefectoral order by virtue of their duties and responsibilities in the field of the application of regulations on foreign nationals or its litigation.

Article R721-1

En cas de rejet de la demande d’asile, le directeur général de l’Office français de protection des réfugiés et apatrides informe le préfet compétent des documents mentionnés à l’article L. 721-2 dont il dispose en original ou en copie.
A la demande du préfet, le directeur général de l’office communique ces documents aux agents personnellement et spécialement habilités par arrêté préfectoral en raison de leur mission et de leurs responsabilités dans le domaine de l’application de la réglementation des étrangers ou de son contentieux.
