Article R722-42 of the French Commercial code

For each case or procedure, the judge may request reimbursement of travel or accommodation expenses related to the case or procedure, based on supporting documents, in accordance with the conditions and procedures for the payment of travel expenses set out in the provisions applicable to civil servants of the State for the Ministry of Justice.

The State is not obliged to reimburse expenses incurred by the judge for travel or accommodation, the number or frequency of which is manifestly unrelated to the requirements of his defence.

Pour chaque instance ou procédure, le juge peut demander, sur justificatifs, le remboursement de ses frais de déplacement ou d’hébergement liés à l’instance ou à la procédure dans les conditions et selon les modalités de règlements des frais occasionnés par les déplacements prévues par les dispositions applicables aux personnels civils de l’Etat pour le ministère de la justice.


L’Etat n’est pas tenu de rembourser les frais engagés par le juge pour des déplacements ou de l’hébergement dont le nombre ou la fréquence sont manifestement sans rapport avec les nécessités de sa défense.
