Article R743-180 of the French Commercial code

At any time, the total sums for which the Registrar of the Commercial Courts is accountable in respect of assignments carried out and mandates received pursuant to Article R. 743-178 must be covered by funds, bills or securities belonging to others that have been deposited either in the accounts mentioned in article R. 743-178, or a financial investment as provided for in article R. 743-179.

Compensation may only occur, unless otherwise agreed, between third-party funds collected and costs incurred in the same case.

Article R743-180

A tout moment, le total des sommes dont le greffier des tribunaux de commerce est comptable au titre des missions exercées et des mandats reçus en application de l’article R. 743-178 doit être couvert par les fonds, effets ou valeurs appartenant à autrui ayant fait l’objet soit d’un dépôt sur les comptes mentionnés à l’article R. 743-178, soit d’un placement financier tel que prévu à l’article R. 743-179.

La compensation ne peut intervenir, sauf convention contraire, qu’entre les fonds de tiers encaissés et les frais exposés dans un même dossier.
