Article R743-5 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

The administrative authority competent to propose to the liberty and custody judge that the hearing take place with the use of audiovisual telecommunication means, as provided for in article L. 743-8, is the departmental prefect and, in Paris, the police prefect.

L’autorité administrative compétente pour proposer au juge des libertés et de la détention que l’audience se déroule avec l’utilisation de moyens de télécommunication audiovisuelle, comme prévu à l’article L. 743-8, est le préfet de département et, à Paris, le préfet de police.
