Article R743-7 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

The order of the liberty and custody judge is handed down within forty-eight hours of its referral. It is notified on the spot to the parties present at the hearing, who acknowledge receipt. The judge shall orally inform the parties present of the time limit for appeal and the procedures by which this remedy may be exercised and shall simultaneously inform them that only the appeal lodged by the public prosecutor may be declared suspensive by the first president of the court of appeal or his delegate.
The notifications provided for in the first paragraph shall be made by any means and as soon as possible to the parties who have not appeared, although duly summoned, as well as to the public prosecutor, who shall acknowledge receipt.

L’ordonnance du juge des libertés et de la détention est rendue dans les quarante-huit heures de sa saisine. Elle est notifiée sur place aux parties présentes à l’audience qui en accusent réception. Le magistrat fait connaître verbalement aux parties présentes le délai d’appel et les modalités selon lesquelles cette voie de recours peut être exercée et les informe simultanément que seul l’appel formé par le ministère public peut être déclaré suspensif par le premier président de la cour d’appel ou son délégué.
Les notifications prévues au premier alinéa sont effectuées par tout moyen et dans les meilleurs délais aux parties qui ne se sont pas présentées, bien que dûment convoquées, ainsi qu’au procureur de la République, qui en accusent réception.
