Article R75-1 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

A copy of each record relating to a custodial sentence handed down for a felony or misdemeanour is sent by the clerk of the court that handed down the sentence to the Ministry of the Interior’s central national police file with a view to its registration in the technical police database.

Un copie de chaque fiche relative à une condamnation à une peine privative de liberté prononcée pour crime ou délit est adressée par le greffier de la juridiction qui a prononcé la condamnation au fichier central de la police nationale du ministère de l’intérieur en vue de son enregistrement sur le sommier de police technique.
