The organiser of a trade show as defined in article L. 762-2 that is not held in a registered exhibition centre must submit a prior electronic declaration to the prefect of the département in which the event is to be held at least two months before the start of the event.
The declarant must provide the main characteristics of the event. The list of these characteristics is defined by an order of the minister responsible for trade. Where the event has been held previously, its quantified characteristics shall be certified in accordance with the conditions laid down by order of the minister responsible for trade.
The prefect shall issue a receipt for the declaration electronically within a maximum of fifteen days from receipt of the complete declaration file. If the declaration is incomplete, he will notify the interested party of the list of missing elements within fifteen days of receipt.
Failing production of the missing additional elements within ten days of this notification, the declaration cannot be the subject of a declaration receipt.
