I. – The Regional Director of the Economy, Employment, Labour and Solidarity has authority over the Departmental Directors of Employment, Labour and Solidarity and the Departmental Directors of Employment, Labour, Solidarity and Protection of Populations for the performance of tasks relating to the inspection of labour legislation.
The Departmental Directors of Employment, Labour and Solidarity, the Departmental Directors of Employment, Labour, Solidarity and Population Protection and, in Ile-de-France, the Departmental Unit Directors carry out, on behalf of the Regional Director and under his authority, and within the framework of the directives and instructions of the Direction Générale du Travail, have hierarchical authority over the agents of the labour inspection system assigned to the Directions Départementales de l’Emploi, du Travail et des Solidarités, the Directions Départementales de l’Emploi, du Travail, des Solidarités et de la Protection des Populations and the Unité Départementale.
II. – The Regional Director of the Economy, Employment, Labour and Solidarity may delegate his signature to the head of the division responsible for labour issues to the Departmental Directors of Employment, Labour and Solidarity, to the Departmental Directors of Employment, Labour, Solidarity and Population Protection and, in Ile-de-France, to the Directors of Departmental Units.
With the agreement of the delegating authority, the latter may sub-delegate the signature of acts for which they themselves have been delegated to labour inspectors under their authority. The Regional Director may terminate all or part of this delegation. He may also draw up a list of powers that he wishes to exclude from the delegation that these heads of department may grant to the labour inspectors under their authority.
