Title XIX: The court registry

The court registry shall keep a general register of the cases brought before the court. The general register shall indicate the date of referral, the registration number, the names of the parties, the nature of the case, if applicable the chamber to which it is distributed, and the nature and date of the decision.

For each case entered in the general register, the court clerk shall compile a file on which shall be entered, in addition to the particulars appearing in that register, the name of the judge or judges hearing the case and, where applicable, the names of the persons representing or assisting the parties. In the event of an appeal or referral after cassation, the Registrar shall send the file to the competent court, either within fifteen days of the request being made to him, or within the time limits laid down by special provisions. The Registrar shall, if necessary, draw up copies of the documents required for the continuation of the proceedings.

The general directory, file and register may be kept in electronic form. The information processing system must guarantee their integrity and confidentiality and enable them to be stored.
