The options provided for in articles L. 2421-6 to L. 2421-8 belong to the heirs of the holder of the right of enjoyment, if the latter dies after the formal notice. In the event of disagreement between them, the commune may require the plot to become its entire property; compensation is then paid to the estate.

The provisions of articles L. 2421-5 to L. 2421-10 benefit all persons who have acquired, for valuable consideration or free of charge, a right of use mentioned in article L. 2421-1, unless the regularity of their acquisition with regard to the legislative or regulatory provisions or customs in force has been contested before the competent courts prior to 5 January 1967.
