Applications for enrolment are sent by the interested parties to their local delegation. After examination, the delegation forwards the application to the Central Council of Section E within two months.

Each delegation elects for six years an additional representative and alternate representative, practising in metropolitan France, who sits on the Central Council E.

The Central Council of Section E is made up of members appointed or elected for a six-year term.
