Chapter I: Articles relating to infants and children.

The manufacture and distribution, whether in return for payment or free of charge, of toys or amusements containing poisonous or dangerous substances, the list of which is drawn up and updated by decree in the Council of State on the advice of the National Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health Safety, are prohibited.

It is prohibited to manufacture, sell, offer for sale, display or import : 1° Bottles with tubes ; 1° bis Collars for teats and soothers and teething rings containing bisphenol A ; 2° Teats and soothers that do not meet the conditions laid down by a decree in the Conseil d’Etat. All advertising, by whatever means or on whatever medium, the direct purpose of which is to promote the sale, provision, use or enjoyment of a mobile telephone by children under the age of fourteen is prohibited.

At the purchaser’s request, for the sale of any mobile telephony device, the operator shall provide a listening device to limit head exposure to radio emissions suitable for children under the age of fourteen.

In order to limit excessive exposure of children, the distribution, whether in return for payment or free of charge, of objects containing radio equipment specifically intended for use by children under the age of six may be prohibited by order of the Minister for Health.
