Section 3: Special housing allowance for primary school teachers

The special allocation for housing teachers provided for in article L. 2334-26 is divided into two parts: – the first part is paid to the communes to compensate for the expenses relating to the accommodation actually occupied by schoolteachers entitled to housing; – the second part is intended to pay the communal allowance provided for by article L. 921-2 of the Education Code.

The communes directly receive the sums due to them in respect of the first part of the special allocation. When the amount of the communal allowance exceeds the unit amount of the special grant as set by the local finance committee, the commune pays the difference directly to the schoolteacher concerned. No sum shall be paid directly to the communes in respect of the operations referred to in the second paragraph of article L. 2334-29.

The provisions of articles L. 2334-27 to L. 2334-30 are applicable from 1 January 1990.
