When the minister of a religion, on any pretext whatsoever, refuses his ministry for the burial of a body, the mayor, either ex officio or at the request of the family, appoints another minister of the same religion to perform these duties. In all cases, the mayor is responsible for having the body carried, presented, deposited and buried.

In communes where several faiths are professed, each faith has a separate burial place. Where there is only one cemetery, it is divided by walls, hedges or ditches into as many parts as there are different faiths, with a separate entrance for each, and proportioning this space to the number of inhabitants of each faith.
